Android Debloater
By Richard Porteous
Have you ever been really annoyed by the BLOATWARE on your mobile device? Well if its an Android then this may be an easy and safe answer for you.
How to Setup the Android Device and Software
official instructions here at https://github.com/0x192/universal-android-debloater?tab=readme-ov-file#how-to-use-it – mine may be clearer
You require a windows, linux, or mac computer AND an Android device plus a USB cord. Your charging cord should be sufficient.
On your computer
Install the Android USB driver for the model of your device or phone. found at https://developer.android.com/studio/run/oem-usb#Drivers
Install the Android Platform tools. https://developer.android.com/tools/releases/platform-tools#downloads
On your Android device
- Backup your data
- Enable Developer options. This is achieved by tapping on Build Number 5 times. Build number is found in “settings”, “about phone”, “Software information” on my samsung S21 – google it for your make/model if you can’t find it.
- Developer Options can be found at the bottom of the setting screen now. select it and scroll down to find “stay awake” and “USB debugging”. turn them both on.
- If the USB driver installed correctly, you may now connect the Android device and after a short while a permission notice will show up asking if you want to allow or trust the connection. Please allow it.
On your computer
Install The De-bloater Software, Releases are found at https://github.com/0x192/universal-android-debloater/releases. Install the version for your computer.
Connect the phone if not already connected.
The phone should connect and a list of it apps should show up on the Debloater screen with a recommended list. These are ‘recommended’ for removal, But keep the ones that you still want.
There are a few ways to remove the software: Read these options below before attempting any.
The recommended list is safe to remove, BUT you may want to keep some nice to haves like the scheduler(sleep time) and weather and ...
- select all from the recommended list or select as you do step 2
- Read through the list (click on each item to see a note)
- Uninstall with the button at the lower right part of the application (all selected).
- remove/disable/enable/re-install with the button on the right of each selection.
- search and the use the same method to remove them as the two above.
- change the list – I suggest sticking with safe or recommended.
Please refer to this link for further app instructions and note there are option for various systems. https://github.com/0x192/universal-android-debloater

Once completed Secure Your phone
Once you have removed all you want from your phone, and restored certain things that you found you do actually need from the recommended list, then you need to do one more thing to re-secure your phone.
turn off the developer options on the android device. It will have a simple toggle
turning it back on is same as before but you no longer have to install anything.
